Wendy Gale's Story

Life I feel the need to be writing to someone... I attended Mercer High School 1983' to 1986. I moved my senior year to Alabama and graduated from B.B.Comer. I also attended Mercer in grade school. I never quite fit into the Mercer crowd but I carry fond memories of a lot of people I met there. Ater graduation, I married and had two children. Shelley and Justin. I stayed in Alabama for a several years but then returned to Sharon, PA later. I attended Penn State College and just made up for missed time with my family. I stayed in PA for a few years and was awarded a job that took me to Tampa, FL. Actually; I traveled a lot with my job. It finally took me to Atlanta, GA. I stayed there several years. I remember looking at this site briefly when I lived in Atlanta. I even made contact with Jennie Perrine. We were going to attend the Class Reunion that year. However, I was called away on business and didn't make it. I did end up in Mercer a couple of weeks later and hung out with my younger brother Doug Hall. I never really went out in Mercer growing up but the town still seemed smaller. Around six years ago, I moved to Alabama full time. It was time to slow down a bit. I am glad that I did. People marry young in Alabama. My daughter married right out of high school and blessed me with two granddaughters. My son took another route but still managed to bless me with a grandson. I smile as I type this. We take many paths in our life but it is where we are today that truly matters. I've aged well. However, with my clientele it is all about looks 90% of the time. I own a small Marketing and PR firm. I was in banking for the last 15 years and operated my PR Company on the side. In 2006, I went out on my own full time. I needed to speed back up. I don't think many knew me well in Mercer. In fact, I was probably better known for my fist fights. I believed...if someone said they were "after you" or confronted you...go ahead and fight and get it over wit...Expand for more
h. I was never afraid of being hit. True, this sometimes got me into more experiences than I cared. I wasn't the prettiest but I was pretty, I wasn't the smartest but I was smart, I wasn't the meanest but I could be mean, I didn't have the most friends but when I was your friend it counted. I think of Mercer more when I think of grade school. I attended the old school with the great fenced in playground. My dreams sometimes take me back there. I had a grade school crush on Dean Peters and a kid named Jaime who next to the school. I hung out with Jennie, Heather O'brien, the Kornbau twins and Lisa Oakes. I remember bobbing for apples at Jennie's Halloween party. I remember catching Pat O'brien with my foot while on the swing and knocking him out. I remember Butchy Fisher beating up Pat for trying to kiss me in 2nd grade. I remember hiding in the bathroom in 1st grade because a boy named Mike kissed me...I obviously had some kissing issues in elementary school. One year our pipes froze up in our little country house and we had to move to Hermitage. Even though I had spent every summer of my life in Alabama it taught me that life was about change. I returned several years later to Mercer and found I was not the same person any longer. The kids that once knew me didn't say "Hi" any longer. I was different and they were different. My bestfriend Loretta Titus from Hermitage moved to Mercer with me for the first year. Loretta, Felicia (my sister), and myself attended Mercer High School but we truly always felt as if we were on the outside looking in. I've never been a conformist and could not figure out how to break code. I still hung around Jennie because I knew she was different in her own way. I made a few additional friends along the way. I also gained my fair share of attention from some kids that was hell bent on letting me know they attending MHS..ah memories I've enjoyed writing this and it makes me laugh thinking of it all. Memories are good!
